- BCANS partnered with the Canadian Cancer Society in a capacity-building project to address the breast health, support, and information needs of Nova Scotians of African heritage. A final report, “Bridging the Gap,” was released in April 1999.
- Two successful resource books were published, Breast Cancer Online: In Our Own Words, and Breast Cancer Online: How We Told Our Children. The demand for both books was so great that they had to be reprinted. In 2005, the books were again reprinted, and an online version was made available.
Gathering Wisdom: Engaging Aboriginal Women in an Early Detection and Breast Cancer Screening Education Program
